This tool screens survey estimates for unusually large changes. It compares the selected round with the immediately preceding survey round and with the mean of up to six preceding rounds.
DIEM periodically revises its household questionnaire template to improve questions, add or remove indicators, and respond to evolving information needs. The three major questionnaire generations are labelled V1, V2, and V3. As a result, a concept may have been asked differently, use different response options, or be unavailable in some rounds.
The app uses only approved indicator mappings to preserve continuity across those versions, identifies the questionnaire version transparently, and avoids treating unavailable observations as data. Even with these safeguards, cross-version signals require contextual review.
A detected anomaly is not automatically a data error or a real-world crisis. It is a prioritized signal that may reflect genuine change, sampling or coverage differences, boundary changes, questionnaire changes, or data-quality issues.
